Glimmercroft “Blaze” is a beautiful well mannered male owned by Kirsten and Pablo Wenceslao, of Marysville, Washington. Blaze is a family dog, wonderful with children, playful and highly intelligent. Blaze has had a bit of practice herding mini dexter cattle. He shows strong natural herding instincts with them, although he has never had any formal training. Blaze also likes to practice herding the family’s chickens. He will also attempt to herd any child that strays from the group when the neighborhood children play together! He has had exposure to many kinds of animals (horses, cats etc.) and does well with them unless they run and he is encouraged to chase them. He is a great property guardian and will bark when anything out of the ordinary happens!
Birthdate: 8/26/2007. Penn Hip score (0.32 right, 0.37 left). He is 50 lbs. and 21 inches in height at the withers. This will be Blaze’s first breeding. For more information on Blaze, contact:
The English Shepherd temperament is the defining characteristic of the breed, with great intelligence and often a unique type of kindness for those in his home, both animals and people. The English Shepherd is often an independent worker. English Shepherds are adaptable and learn routines quickly. Some can be watchful of strangers. However, once he accepts people or children or stock as his own, there are few better caretakers than an English Shepherd.
The English Shepherd is an extremely versatile breed of working dog of the collie lineage. The English Shepherd is a highly intelligent, practical all-around farm dog, being used as a herding dog, watch dog, hunting dog, vermin eradicator and child's companion. Unlike some other herding dogs, English Shepherds have not been specialized to work one species of livestock. English Shepherds have primarily been used on small diversified farms that have a number of different livestock species, including cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, and fowl. English shepherds both herd and protect livestock.
He’s very handsome. Do you know how tall he is? I think you mentioned he’s around 45lbs?
